Fascinating 8x10 team photo of the 1931-32 New York Rangers is featured in this lot of six vintage Blueshirts pictures that includes five original photos. Rangers HOFers Frank Boucher, Bill and Bun Cook and Ching Johnson are pictured in an 8x10 along with ironman Murray Murdoch, who figures prominently in this lot, including pair of 8x10 portraits taken early and late in his 11-year career. A glorious 9x14 action shot from the 1930s shows Murdoch going for goal against Detroit. A 1936-37 Rangers team picture on 8 1/2" x 11" paper stock rounds out this spectacular lot. Murdoch never missed a game while playing 508 in a row on Broadway;
The 1931-32 Rangers team photo features Lester Patrick in the middle of the back row with Murdoch to his left. The team members’ names are displayed on two typed pieces of paper included;
The 8x10 photo of Boucher, the Cook brothers, Murdoch and Johnson has a New York Daily News embossed seal stamp in the bottom right corner and it is stamped “Daily News Photograph” on the reverse;
The earlier Murdoch 8x10 portrait is in wonderful condition and the latter portrait is also very nicely preserved with tears in the top and bottom right corners;
The action photo of Murdoch shooting on the Red Wings’ goal has the notation “S. Andre (copyright symbol) N.Y. American) in the bottom right corner;
Nicely preserved 1936-37 Rangers team photo from Murdoch’s final NHL season has a light stain in the middle of the names on the bottom.
