Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Go Expos go! A wonderful little collection of Montreal Expos photos/display pieces are available in this neat lot, with a pair of advertising pieces from both Chrysler and Pepsi featuring the Expos, along with a large signed photo featuring Bill Lee & Steve Rogers. Next we have a pair of glossy 16” x 20” black and white prints featuring game action, along with another 11 photos of varying sizes that include an image of Jarry Park, an interior shot of Olympic Stadium, photos of Ron Brand, an image of an Expo with Montreal mayor Jean Drapeau, action shots and more. The Pepsi advertisement is 22” x 32” and on cardboard stock, and it pictures Ron Brand surrounded by young autograph hounds, with text above in French along with “Pepsi”. A section of the top left corner has been cut away, with other wear present including creasing, scratches and indentations. A number of pinholes are also present, with heavier wear to the top right and bottom left corners. The second cardboard advertisement was produced by Chrysler and features Gary Carter. The catcher is pictured in batting and catching poses, with his trademark smile on full display. A facsimile signature is also present, near an image of the Chrysler company logo. At roughly 16 ½” x 20 ¾”, the display suffers from edge, corner and surface wear, with pinholes present along all four corners. Next, the dual-signed Rogers/Lee photo pictures the pair in a black and white image, with each adding large blue sharpie signatures. With no issues visible, the photo has been framed to full dimensions of 18” x 22”. The condition of the remaining photos vary with most exhibiting moderate wear, with the Jarry Park example dry-mounted.
