Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Developing with HC ZKZ Plzen in his native Czech Republic before he would hear his name called 23rd overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Milan Kraft would go on to play a total of 207 games in the National Hockey League over the course of his career, all with the Penguins, while also suiting up in the red, white and blue colours of the Czech Republic on three (3) different top level international competitions. Offered here, we present this Penguins jersey worn by Kraft during the second (2nd) of two (2) games played between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Nashville Predators in Saitama, Japan on October 7th and October 8th of 2000. Made by Koho and sporting both size "56" and "Made in Canada" fly tags affixed to the inner collar while Kraft's number "14" has been penned to the second of the two (2) tags listed in black marker ink. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Penguins team crest that features both embroidered and textured details throughout its entirety, the all-important "Game ONe Japan 2000" event patch is found in place over the right breast. Retaining its fight strap on the interior, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Kraft's number "14" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while "Kraft" has been spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Sporting a Koho logo patch over the reverse neckline and having had the NHL's shield emblem embroidered into the reverse hem, the jersey shows just light wear, expected of a piece only worn in a single game, a small number of board burns and other marks appear over the areas of both elbows. Accompanied by a Penguins LOA, it needs to be pointed out that it lists the jersey as having been worn in the game on October 7th, which is incorrect as the Penguins wore their black jerseys as the "road" team on October 8th only.
