This great lot of Luc Robitaille’s signed game-used sticks consists of eight gamers spanning two decades of the Hall of Fame left winger’s career, from the early-1990s to his final season in 2005-06. Featured here from Robitaille’s personal collection are a pair of white Sher-Wood sticks from his heyday as one of the NHL’s most lethal scorers during his first go-round with the Kings in the early-1990s, as well one of Robitaille’s last batch of game-used sticks from the end of his final season in 2005-06. Also included are three Innovative sticks from his second stint with L.A. in the late-1990s/early-2000s, and a pair of silver Easton gamers from his two seasons with the Detroit Red Wings from 2001-03. All eight sticks retain Robitaille’s tape jobs on the knob, while most of the sticks also have taped blades. Please see our website description for more photos and detailed information about this lot. Comes with Luc Robitaille’s signed LOA. 1) Robitaille signed across his white tape job on the blade of his “Robitaille 20” Sher-Wood gamer with “1991 Stick” written in black marker on the back of the shaft. Solid, crack-free stick displays nice wear to the bottom edge of the tape job; 2) Robitaille signed in black marker on the now-bare blade of his “Robitaille 20” Sher-Wood gamer which had its tape removed for his autograph. Top edge of the blade is chipped and there are cracks along the rough bottom edge, particularly towards the toe, but this gamer is otherwise solid and displays nice game use, including red and blue paint transfer, along the shaft; 3) Innovative two-piece gamer is a “Smolinski” composite shaft used by Robitaille in his second stint with the Kings featuring a wood blade insert. Robitaille signed across the front of the blade on what remains of his white tape job as well as directly on the wood blade. “1998” is written in black marker on the back of the wood blade just below where it is attached to the shaft. Bottom edge is cracked in the middle and shows rough wear at the heel, but this gamer remains a solid display piece; 4) “Robitaille” is stamped on the shaft of his blue two-piece Innovative stick, which is dated “2001” in black marker on the back of the white tape knob. Robitaille signed in black marker across the white tape job on the smooth, crack-free blade insert; 5) Battle-scarred black Innovative game-used stick is signed by Luc towards the toe of his tattered white tape job on the blade insert. The blade tape is worn through completely along the rough bottom edge, which has had its outer black layer worn off completely towards the heel. “2001” is written in black marker on the back of the white tape knob. Paint has chipped off along the shaft, including part of Robitaille’s surname stamp on the front; 6) Easton Synergy one-piece composite from Luc’s stint in Detroit has his number “20” written in black marker on the front of his white tape knob and “20 Robitaille” factory graphics on the shaft. Luc has signed across his white tape job on the blade, which has worn through along the rough, but crack-free bottom edge of this solid gamer; 7) Easton Synthesis two-piece composite from Luc’s time with the Red Wings has “20 Robitaille” factory graphics on the front of the shaft and is dated “2003” in black marker low on the back of the shaft. Luc has signed across the white tape job on the Easton blade insert, which has worn through along the bottom edge which displays a small chip towards the heel; 8) Luc has signed in black marker on the front of his white tape job on the blade of his Warrior one-piece composite gamer which also displays Luc’s distinctively shaved-flat bottom edge of the stick. Kings equipment man Peter Millar’s distinctive symbol is signed in white paint pen on the back of the upper shaft along with the notation “57”, just below the white tape knob on the knob which has “Last Game” written in black marker. Robitaille prepared 60 of these hand-numbered sticks with “Robitaille” factory graphics on the shaft, which he used during his final three games with the Kings at the end of the 2005-06 season.
