Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
The NHL 2000 patch sits on the right breast of this historic Luc Robitaille game-worn L.A. Kings jersey, a special piece from the personal collection of the Hall of Fame left winger who wore it during his 1,000th regular season game! Robitaille signed in black marker on the silver part of the “2” in his now-retired No. 20 on the back of this gamer he wore when he reached the milestone against St. Louis on January 4, 2000. He scored the Kings’ second goal 51 seconds into the third period of a 2-2 tie with the Blues at the Staples Center. Kings equipment man Peter Millar handwrote “1000th Game” and placed his initial beside it, all in black marker, inside the rear hem of this historic Robitaille gamer. Two scoresheets from the milestone game signed by Robitaille are among the documents included from the game. Please see our website description for more information about this lot. Comes with Luc Robitaille’s signed LOA. Robitaille recalls wearing at least two jerseys during the game, though not many more, and he says that he did not put on a new jersey between periods. CCM and size 56 fly tags remain in the neck and the fight strap is whole and intact. Light but discernible game use includes a mark on the left elbow and a couple of faint board burns near the right cuff. Robitaille signed a carbon copy of the official NHL scoresheet from the milestone game on January 4, 2000, a 2-2 tie with St. Louis at the Staples Center, which saw Lucky Luc notch the Kings’ second goal 51 seconds into the third. He also signed one of seven scoring summary sheets from the game included here along with carbon copies of the official report, statistics and penalty record from his milestone 1,000th game.
