Luc Robitaille got his Hall of Fame career off to a searing start by scoring 40 goals or more in each of his first eight seasons with the L.A. Kings. Offered here from Luc’s personal collection are two of his “40th Goal” pucks, including the one he put in the net to reach 40 goals in 1991-92 and another used to score his 40th goal of the 1993-94 season in a Kings neutral site home game in Sacramento. Please see our website description for details about these two historic 40th goal pucks. Luc Robitaille’s signed LOA accompanies this lot. The NHL 75th anniversary logo is screened on the official game puck used throughout the league in 1991-92. Black ink notation “March 7/92 – Pittsburgh Penguins – G.W. Forum, Luc Robitaille – 40th Goal 1991-92 Season (A – M. McSorley B. Thompson)” is written on the yellowed band of white tape wrapped around the puck, which has “40th goal, #20 (33-56), LA/Pitt, G.W. Forum” written in black marker on the orange circle reverse. The 1993-94 Kings game puck has the notation “40 Goal 1994” in silver paint pen above the orange circle reverse. Luc has signed a copy of the scoresheet from his milestone game which shows he scored the Kings’ first goal on Bill Ranford 12:40 into the second in a 6-1 win over Edmonton at Arco Arena on April 3rd 1994.
