Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
From the final season of the hallowed Original Six era in 1966-67, a season that witnessed the Chicago Black Hawks finish atop the NHL for the first time in franchise history, we have a team-signed stick issued to Windy City winger Lou Angotti that originates from the personal collection of Hawks star and Team Canada Summit Series member Pat Stapleton. A Northland Custom Pro Glass Fused model with “Angotti” stamped to the upper shaft along with his preferred lie, a stamp also appears from team supplier Gunzo’s, with the original striping accents unmolested over the lower shaft. There is some dirt staining to the lower reverse shaft and blade, with “Chicago Black Hawks 1966-67” somewhat faded in black marker over the frontside blade. 21 have signed the frontside shaft in matching black marker including Stapleton, along with HOFers Hall, Pilote, Hull, Esposito, and Mikita, as well as Wharram, Mohns, Hull, Maki, Nesterenko, Hodge, Hay, Van Impe, Miszuk, DeJordy and a few others. The signatures present well, with a few smudged. An LOA from the Stapleton family will accompany.
