Edmonton Oilers Auction 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/16/2005
BJ MacDonald wore this heavy black mesh road jersey immediately following his trade from the Edmonton Oilers to the Vancouver Canucks late in the 1980-81 season. McDonald is best known in Oil Town as Gretzky's right winger on the famous GMC line with Brett Callighen. The sweater has "Sandow SK" screened on the outer rear hem with the manufacturer tag and washing instructions label up in the collar. Yellow tackle twill numbers are sewn on the back and again low down on the sleeves and "MacDonald" runs across the knit nameplate in two-tone tackle twill. This shirt shows obvious game use with a couple of burns and four large team repairs. Another appealing jersey in a highly sought-after style. *startred* The nameplate on the jersey is not original as the 1980-81 Sandow road nameplates were single colour orange letters on a mesh nameplate. The auction description does accurately list the nameplate as a "knit nameplate in two-tone tackle twill" which would most likely make it a 1982-83 Maska nameplate. *endred*
