Edmonton Oilers Auction 2005

Hall of Fame defenseman Paul Coffey's effortless strides caused opposing defensemen to cringe and sent goalies scurrying for cover. Coffey did some amazing things on the ice, while wearing skates two sizes too small. Offered is a pair of late-1980's to early-1990's skates worn by Coffey. These appear to be made by Bauer but display no manufacturer markings or size tagging inside except for a pair of Bauer-made insoles. As per Paul's specifications, the skates have been custom-reinforced with heavy patches of machine stitching around the ankle and at the base of the boot. They have Tuuk blade holders and show excellent wear including fraying at the toes with loads of stick and puck marks scattered throughout.
