This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/16/2005
Each year the Edmonton Oilers pay tribute to the player that most exemplifies hard work, leadership and respect from his teammates but does not necessarily receive the limelight or recognition that they deserve. Offered is the team's original "Unsung Hero" award which was awarded by the Edmonton Oilers from1987-88 through 1993-94. Winners include: Huddy (2 years), Ranford, Klima, Murphy, MacTavish and Corson. The trophy stands 24" high and the base measures 15"x15". At the top of the trophy is an ornate trophy bowl and in the middle sits an engraved plaque with the name of the presenting sponsor and text reading "To the Player selected as Unsung Hero on the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club." Individually engraved plates listing the names of the winners and respective years can be found at the base. Overall, the trophy is in excellent condition with a few scuffs. From the archives of the Edmonton Oilers with a team letter of provenance signed by General Manager Kevin Lowe.
