Edmonton Oilers Auction 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/16/2005
In the old days every good hockey barn had an electric organ high up in the rafters to help work the home town crowd into a frenzied cheer. Like the great original six team rinks before them, the old Edmonton Coliseum was n exception. Well before the invention of computer operated digital sound effects you would find a talented organist and their trusty piece of hardware pumping up local fans with their favorite renditions of "charge", "he shoots, he scores" or "the hockey song". For many fans, the distinctive sound of the pipe organ brings back the memories more than any classic photo would. We are proud to offer the electric organ that resided in the old Edmonton Coliseum from 1974 until the invention of its modern day replacement many years later. This vintage relic has played it all, seen it all and was an integral part of the Oilers dynasty years, keeping fans from sitting on their hands and giving the Oilers that home crowd advantage when they needed it most. This Kawai Electric Organ, model number DX1800 has two tiers of keys and more buttons than we care to count! Features include: "Electro chord Bass Three", "Drum Fill In", "Auto Arpeggio" and if you can understand the above lingo then we are sure you will appreciate the "Memoricorder" attachment. The organ has the bass pedal attachment and a built in slide down cover to protect the keyboard. Overall in very good working condition with light surface wear to the cabinet. It worked when we pulled it out, we are certain it will play for you! From the archives of the Edmonton Oilers with a team letter of provenance signed by General Manager Kevin Lowe.
