Mess finished the 1981-82 season with 50 goals and 88 points, the most productive campaign in his young NHL career. It was Mark's first and the only fifty-goal season of his storied twenty five years in the NHL! The big goal came on March 31, 1982 during a home game against the Kings with Mark's hometown friends, family and 17,000 Oilers fans in attendance cheering him on. Assists on this milestone goal went to Gretzky and Anderson making the puck even that more special. The official NHL Inglasco Oilers puck from the milestone was plucked from the net that night and later mounted (with tape) on a 7"x 9" wood display plaque that has a pre-drilled wall mount hole in the centre. A brass plate with laser engraved black text captures the details of this great moment in Edmonton Oilers history. Rom the archives of the Edmonton Oilers with a team letter of provenance signed by General Manager Kevin Lowe.
