Tikkanen, who won the Stanley Cup with the Rangers in 1994, wore this preseason jersey at some point in the late-1990s when he had a pair of brief stints back with the team in 1996-97 and 1998-99. Styled with “Rangers” placed diagonally across the chest in dual-color drop-shadow tackle twill, the jersey has been accented with sleeve and verso numbers in matching material and his surname is arched above his number "10" on the back with the lettering rubberized and on an attached nameplate. Starter and size 54-R tagging is affixed to the collar and there are embroidered Starter and NHL crests on the back bottom hem and the fight strap has been cut.
The jersey is photo-matched to a 1990s Getty Images #89277334 which shows the black mark on the lower portion of the number "1" on the left sleeve and the burn mark located on the lower sleeve. Additionally, this image is also showing the irregular bottom shape of the first "R" of Rangers on the chest with the two small red loose threads also visible. The long loose white thread on the bottom of the "A" is also showing. Comes with a Team LOA signed by GM Neil Smith and a MeiGray COR.
The sweater exhibits decent game wear which includes a half dozen plus or so game marks on the right sleeve which also has a trio of small burn marks, two of them causing small holes, which are unrepaired. The left sleeve is showing four small marks with additional black marks on the number "10", a small unrepaired hole in the red striping and a burn mark on the lower sleeve.
