Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Originally distributed by Hockey Diversified, we have a puck from the NHL Goal Puck Program that was used to score a goal in an NHL game. This particular puck was used by all-star Rene Robert during his first 40-goal season to score the Buffalo Sabres 5th goal of the 1972-73 Stanley Cup playoffs, in Game 5 of the Quarterfinals, vs the Montreal Canadiens, at the Forum, on April 10, 1973. Assisted by his French Connection linemates Gilbert Perreault and Rick Martin, it was Robert’s 4th goal of the playoffs. The game winning goal scored at 9:18 of overtime to give the Sabres a 3-2 win, Robert also scored and added an assist in the second for a three-point night. The Canadiens would take the series in six. The rubberized Habs logo and Goal Puck Program label both have darkened, with some staining to the latter, with just very light wear to the puck itself. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
