Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Appearing for a trio of NHL clubs over his 13-season professional career, Ben Guite first attended the University of Maine, with later seasons spent with AHL clubs including Bridgeport and Cincinnati. This Canadiens jersey was worn by the Montreal native in the late-1990s during the NHL preseason. Measuring-out to roughly a size 58, a Starter label is affixed to the collar, with embroidered Starter and NHL crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with the most famous team crest in hockey, the white V-neck has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Guite” across the affixed nameplate in single blue twill. We should also note evidence of a former shorter nameplate. Exhibiting great use, there are a number of marks over the front and sleeves including a few large stick marks over the front band, with a few faint stains beneath the collar and a board burn over the left elbow. Obtained directly from the Montreal Canadiens, an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
