This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Heading into his second NHL season, Bobby Orr was already regarded as the top defender in the game and signed a lucky fan’s program after a battle with the Detroit Red Wings on February 4, 1968. Orr scored the opening goal that night as the Big Bad Bruins rolled to victory, but a fan named Blaine managed to get Orr to sign a page from his program that is being offered here. Other signers include Alex Delvecchio, Gordie Howe, John Bucyk, and Ken Hodge along with referee Vern Buffey and linesmen Bob Frampton and Brent Caselman. Also included in this lot is a program (rated as being in good condition) from three days earlier with Chicago Black Hawks and the detached lineup section includes signatures from the same officiating crew with a dedication to Lea by Buffey along with autographs from Stan Mikita, Bill Orban, Bobby Hull, Paul Terbenche, Tom Reid, Ken Wharram, Pierre Pilote, and Dennis Hull. The cover of the program has a signature that is possibly that of Pit Martin. As a bonus, the winner of this auction with also receive a copy of the record “The Two Sides of Bobby Orr” in good condition and a Hockey magazine with Bobby Orr on the cover (Toronto vs. Boston on October 13, 1973).
