The incredible and almost mythical career of Maurice Richard is captured perfectly in this tribute lithograph by renowned Montreal sports artist Michel Lapensee. The Rocket is featured prominently with his intense stare which intimidate goaltenders along with eight memorable moments from his life – including his five-goal night, winning the Stanley Cup, his radio appearance calling for peace after the 1955 Richard Riot, shaking hands with Sugar Jim Henry at the end of the 1952 Stanley Cup Semifinals, and more. Limited to 9,999 copies and numbered “152” over the bottom left, the beautiful signature of Richard in black marker underneath the title of the piece, “Rocket”, is featured. Lapensee also added his signature at the bottom right, with the litho double-matted and framed to full dimensions of approx 30” x 35”. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
