Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
A member of the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame, with his 28 Olympic games-played a record among Russian national team players, Darius Kasparaitis enjoyed an especially lengthy NHL career, with numerous seasons spent with the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders. From his lone season in Denver, we have a Colorado Avalanche jersey worn by the talented Lithuanian in 2001-02, where he appeared in 11 games. A label with “52” sizing is affixed to the collar, with NHL and KOHO crests over the reverse hem and back necklines respectively. Styled with a textured Aves team crest with embroidered detailing, “11” appears over the sleeves and verso in stylized, layered numerals, with matching alternate Bigfoot crests over each shoulder. The team patch denoting the garment as a “Set III” example sits on the inside hem, with a COA from the Avalanche to accompany.
Exhibiting a few scuff marks across the team crest, there are also faint burns over each sleeve, with the jersey remaining in gorgeous condition overall.
