Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020

A challenging set from the 1970s due to the high numbers is O-Pee-Chee's '72-73 issue, with this ensemble dominated by cards that show handling/wear but not much abuse; VG, VG+ and (to a lesser extent) VG-EX examples show up the most often, with smaller percentages of better/worse cards and intermittent appearances of heavily/multi-creased low graders. Among the keys, Bobby Orr's regular card (#129) is VG+, similar to 247-Dryden All-Star, with a border stain lowering the otherwise VG 59-Lafleur and most other stars creased and VG at best. Dryden (#145) and 336-Hull each have a small crease and are VG. We'd say VG for the overall average, with that on the generous side for the 28-card Team Canada insert set. Better are 14 Player Crest inserts, with however mostly commons in the mix. Oh, checklists are all (five) present, with #6 marked and multi-creased, #19 VG, #190 VG-EX, #334A (More WHA Stars) EX but with one square (#334) blackened-in and #334B unmarked but F-G with a side-to-side diagonal crease. A blast back nearly 50 years awaits the high bidder.
