Featuring both the greatest team in the history of the game along with the most famous venue, this collection of Montreal Forum programs featuring the Montreal Canadiens totals 7, and ranges from 1928-29 to 1964-65 (a few programs feature teams other than the Canadiens). First, we have a program for a Jan 24, 1929 match vs Toronto (6” x 9”), followed by an example from Jan 7, 1932, for a match between the Montreal Maroons and NY Rangers (6” x 9”), a 1934-35 program for a contest against Chicago (7” x 10”), and 8” x 10” programs from 1946-47 (vs Rangers, cover tear and paper loss), 1960-61 (vs the Rangers, signed on the cover by Tom Johnson) and 1961-62 (vs Detroit). There is also a desirable program for Game 7 of the 1965 Stanley Cup finals, with the cup clinched by the Habs on this evening! Rounding out the lot, we have a Forum program from 1952-53 for the Montreal Royals, along with a Forum example for a military event in 1942.
The 1965 Stanley Cup finals program and additional 1960s programs show just light to moderate handling wear, with the 1946-47 program showing heavy wear with creases, spine damage and material loss. The 1934-35 program exhibits spine and handling wear, with a faint vertical crease and a detached page. The 1929 and 1932 programs both show heavier wear to the covers and spines, with each having detached but intact pages.
