Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Each puck originally distributed by Hockey Diversified could be obtained by mail with the buyer’s choice of team and possibly player. A label was affixed to each puck listing the scorer, team and date, along with a code that divulged which team-goal said puck accounted for. This particular puck was used by HOF member Gilbert Perreault to score the Buffalo Sabres 167th goal of the season vs the California Golden Seals, at Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum Arena, on Feb 8, 1974. Assisted by Mike Robitaille, it was the Victoriaville native’s 11th goal of the season and 103rd of his career, with a total of 512 career goals scored. The second Buffalo goal of the contest scored late in the first at 17:46, Perreault would add a second goal along with a pair of assists for a four-goal night. California would be heavily defeated at home, 7-2. The rubberized Seals logo and Goal Puck Program label both remain fairly clean, with a large gouge just beneath the Goal Puck Program label.
