Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020

Hoard of Wayne Gretzky cards here is of course highlighted by not one but two 1979-80 O-Pee-Chee rookie cards. The best has a VG appearance, with visible corner wear and a half-inch light vertical crease rising up from the bottom edge to attain the left edge of the Oilers logo. Additionally, the right and bottom edges look suspect and the card measures just a tad short. The thin blue lines on the reverse (bottom of the comic), in the opinion of some are a sign of O-Pee-Chee's first print run that year. The other RC, although crease-free, must be considered low grade due to small parts of the upper left and lower right corners missing. Among the rest, a second-year Team Leaders/checklist card and a third-year card (both EX-MT) and a few others from the 1980s (eight Neilson's) are notable, with a wealth of 1990s Upper Deck, Score, McDonald's and other brands also present. We spot some inserts but no big value ones, although perusing Gretzky cards is always fun - there are pages and pages to check out.
The first Beckett hockey price guide and a couple of others featuring The Great One on the cover conclude the binder.
