Featuring a dozen of the globe’s best hockey nations, the 1997 IIHF World Championships witnessed Canada take on the Swedes in a best-of-three final, with the mighty maple leaf victorious. This 1997 IIHF World Championships Team Canada 10K gold and diamond champions ring was presented to HOF superstar Bob Gainey, who served as Assistant General Manager for Team Canada. Size 10 ½ with an approx weight of 35 grams, a Hockey Canada logo with raised player set within a bed of diamonds covers the tableau, with “1997” above, and “World Champions” below. The left shank has an enamel Team Canada logo with “Gainey” above and “A.G.M.” below, while the right shank has the logo of the 1997 World Championships along with “Finland” and “97”. The inner band is stamped "10K" and "IGO" (Intergold). Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Bob Gainey will accompany.
In beautiful condition, the ring exhibits very light wear with no obtrusive marks or damage. A wooden flip-top display/storage box is also included (6” x 4”), with a small plaque within the interior engraved with “Bob Gainey” and “1997 World Championships" (light to moderate wear to the plaque and box).
