Doug "Flaky" Favell, who spent the last 2 1/2 seasons of his 12-year NHL career with the Colorado Rockies, wore this photo-matched jersey in circa 1977-78. A Champions tag is affixed to the collar with no visible size and the jersey measures out to a size 58. The mesh jersey has a rubberized team crest, numbers on sleeves and back, along with matching team crests over each shoulder. A small loop-style fight strap has also been utilized on the vintage garment which has the inner lower sleeves customized with a single row of white tape now mostly dried-up and unglued. The nameplate was removed, which was common for Rockies jerseys from this era, and Favell has applied his signature on the second back number "3". The jerseys exhibits some puck marks, it has two small unrepaired holes on the front of the jersey and a long unrepaired cut is located on the back of the upper left sleeve which has a pair of red paint transfer marks.
The jersey is photo-matched to a pair of images from away games vs the New York Islanders; Getty Images #468835450 to the rubberized white factory imperfections in the second "3" of "33" on the right sleeve and Getty Images #51916339 to the rubberized white factory imperfections in the second "3" of "33" on the right sleeve and to the small black mark in the middle area of the team’s crest (in the white section near the red outer circle). On both these images, he is wearing a CCM helmet with a Cooper cage. A numeric image of a media photo, without a mask, is also showing the aforementioned rubberized white factory imperfections in the second "3" of "33" on the right sleeve. A fourth numeric image of Favell, wearing his fiberglass face protector painted in Rockies' colors, is also matched to the rubberized white factory imperfections in the second "3" of "33" on the right sleeve. Splendid sweater from the defunct franchise.
