Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
A fifth round selection of the Atlanta Thrashers in 2003, Brett Sterling won the Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Award as rookie of the year in the AHL in 2007, with a quartet of seasons played previously with Colorado College, from 2002 to 2006. This Tigers jersey was worn by the Los Angeles native during the early-2000s, and with evidence of a former nameplate, use within his first season in 2002-03 is likely. Nike labeling with “54” sizing is affixed to the collar, with an embroidered WCHA crest just above the right breast. Styled with an attractive Tigers team crest, “21” appears over the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Sterling” over the arching nameplate. Showing great game use, a few large stick marks are visible over the front along with pilling and fabric pulls, with additional marks and pilling over each sleeve.
