Stunning Colorado Rockies jersey was worn by Steve Tambellini during his second season with the Rockies, in 1981-82, in which he registered 59 points, second-highest on the team’s leaderboard, and finished first for goals with 29.
Well-washed Sandow and laundry instruction flag tags remain in the neck of Tambellini's #14 game-worn home jersey. Rockies crest on the front and lively "C" team patches on the shoulders are sewn-on twill as are the numbers on the back and both sleeves. Surname letters are heat-pressed vinyl on a nameplate. Heavy stitching shows between the bottom of the numbers for the reinforced fight strap customized with a skate lace and the Sandow SK logo is heat-screened in blue on the right rear tail.
Nice game wear to report includes a pair of team repairs on the left sleeve, an additional sewing fix on the right sleeve and four more to the front of the jersey with all but one of the team repairs material-backed. Furthermore, there are numerous stick marks to the sleeves and body of the jersey with burns and paint transfer marks showing throughout the jersey as well as pilling inside and out. The jersey is photo-matched to an included vintage 6 ½" x 8" B&W photo date stamped from February of 1982 which clearly shows the long orange transfer mark on the lower left area of the back of the jersey which is also showing-up on February 1982 Getty Images #162003762.
Included are three LOAs including one from a former Colorado Rockies training staff member. An amazing jersey worn in the team’s final season in Denver before moving to New Jersey.
