Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
A short trip over the border from his Buffalo hometown, Stephen Dhillon backstopped the OHL’s Niagara IceDogs for parts of five seasons beginning in 2014-15, with just a single game played in the ECHL with Fort Wayne, in 2019-20. Hailing from the match to support Autism Ontario, on Nov 21, 2017, where Dhillon stopped 24 of 25 shots in a close loss to Ottawa, we have the mask worn by the young netminder, and it’s been signed. A Bauer model with intact cage, strapping and interior padding, the mask feature’s an intricately-designed paint job specifically done for the Nov 21 game to support autism, with “30” over the chin section, “Niagara IceDogs” over the right side and an Autism Ontario logo over the left. The date of the game has also been added over the back plate. A logo from Innegra has been added behind the chin, with the artist signing and adding the date “10/21/17”. Obtained directly from the IceDogs by our consignor, a number of printed 4" x 6" photos of Dhillon wearing this mask will accompany.
Dhillon has signed over the top reverse in black, with the thin marker signature displaying well. Exhibiting minimal game-use, there is just some very light surface wear, with no obtrusive chips or damage. A Bauer storage/carry bag for the mask is also included.
