Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Boy, some nice white borders, smooth edges and sharp corners are featured here, with the appearance of many cards better than their technical grades, lowered by curved indentations from having been inserted/stored in a Parkie album. Storage also resulted in some cards having more markedly uneven toning than others, with still others not affected at all. Among the key cards, recently inspected by PSA, the Jean Beliveau rookie card, Howe and Richard (all VG 3), along with #30-Lach & Richard (EX 5), have less obvious toning than those of 1-Lumley (VG 3), Horton (GOOD 2), Sawchuk (VG-EX 4) and Worsley RC (VG 3). Of the raw rest, we count 30 with white borders, with varying toning affecting the remainder, with images of the notables on our website, where 15 cards measuring short are mentioned.
Notables among the aforementioned "short" examples are #s 19-Olmstead, 47-Delvecchio, 55-Bentley, 57-Howell RC, 82-Rollins, 86-Henry and 100-Quackenbush. There are two duplicates thrown-in; 30-Lach & Richard (tape stains) and 79-Raglan (VG-EX)(MC). Also to mention is that 91-Mackell is the common (no bio) version, while contrary to a '52-53 Parkie set offered in another auction, (that has cards with indentations and creases), this assembly features no, or very minimal, creases.
