Interesting to say the least is this batch of 1952-53 Parkhurst cards which look to have had but one owner. Or at least, the original owner placed the set in a Parkie album back in the day, resulting in cards now in uniform condition, but with light curved indentations in the corner regions, more often seen in Parkies from the two following years. Also, the process of inserting the cards in the slatted cardboard sheets resulted in most of the cards having a very light, subtle crease, usually only detectable when examining the backs. How did PSA graders see/assess the key cards? Well, rookie cards of Horton and Armstrong and second-year Howe, Sawchuk and Harvey examples were recently slabbed VG-EX 4 (we can spot a light crease on the back of each), with none spotted in the Geoffrion card, also VG-EX 4. A back corner crease is also clearly visible with #1-Maurice Richard (EX 5) and 10-Dickie Moore RC (VG 3), begging the question, how can a creased card be considered an EX 5? Anyways, we count 20 raw cards without a crease/wrinkle, the vast majority commons but including 31-Rollins and 44-Kennedy. Little-handled cards are attractive vintage collectibles awaiting a new appreciative home.
Please note that an apparent tape stain affects the upper right border of one card; 53-Alex Delvecchio.
