Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Used during the era when the Boston Bruins ruled the hockey world winning Stanley Cup championships in both 1970 and 1972, we have a signed stick from superstar Phil Esposito that was employed during the early-1970s. A Northland Custom Pro model with striping accents in Bruins’ colours, “Esposito” is stamped midway down the shaft, with additional stamps over each side of the upper shaft from team supplier Woody Dumart and Co. The original black tape is in place over the blade and white over the knob, with moderate to heavier use exhibited, with considerable wear to the underside of the blade and dark marks over the lower shaft. There are also a few minor areas of red paint transfer on the upper shaft, with Espo adding a large green ballpoint signature over the backside of the shaft, with the autograph fading just slightly over time.
We should also note that someone has scribbled and partially crossed out a name on the topside of the lower shaft, with additional scribbles on the underside.
