Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
A seldom if ever seen combination of signatures on a baseball, we have an example hailing from the 1980s that has been signed by over 20 hockey legends including 10 HOFers. Originating from a 1986 charity baseball game in conjunction with the Montreal Expos according to our consignor, the Rawlings Official National League ball hails from the presidency of Charles Feeney, with each of the approx. 26 signatures executed in ballpoint. Included are HOFers Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Michel Goulet, Mike Bossy, Ray Bourque, Larry Robinson, Glen Anderson, Mike Gartner, Peter Stastny and Glen Sather, along with Kevin Lowe, Charlie Huddy, Pete Peters, Eddy Palchak (Canadiens trainer) and others. The ball itself exhibits heavy toning along with a few darkened areas, with the majority of the signatures displaying well with minimal to no fading.
