Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
A consummate hockey champion winning both on the ice and behind the bench, Jacques Lemaire can claim 9 Stanley Cup championships, with 8 won during his 12 seasons with the Canadiens along with a 9th win coaching the New Jersey Devils in 1995. Hailing from a productive time during his career in the early-1970s where he averaged better than a-point-a-game from 1971-72 to 1974-75, we have a stick used by the LaSalle native. A Victoriaville Pro model, “J Lemaire” appears stamped over the upper shaft, with additional stamps over each side from Victoriaville. Sporting intact but worn striping accents in Habs colours, a shaved handle has been utilized, with the black tape over the handle along with the bare blade both original, as this is how Lemaire used his sticks during the era.
Good use is exhibited, with wear to the blade along with marks over the lower shaft. There is also a small crack/splinter midway up the shaft, starting along an edge and moving towards the center.
