Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
One of the NHL’s most decorated early clubs and led by Hall of Fame member Buck Boucher, the 1927-28 Ottawa Senators would feature an additional five enshrined members including King Clancy, Frank Nighbor, Punch Broadbent, Cy Denneny and goalie Alex Connell. At approx. 6” x 9 ½”, the famous Senators appears posed in this stunning vintage sepia-tone photograph with members attired in the club’s classic striped-wool sweaters boasting the wonderful "World Champs, 1926-27" shield crest over the chest. The Senators would be led offensively by Frank Finnigan, who scored 20 goals and 25 points that season, both team highs, while 20-year-old Hec Kilrea would have a 23-point campaign. Matted and framed to full dimensions of 11" x 15", both the image and frame exhibit light wear, with a minor crease over the lower left portion of the image.
