Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

Young stars Stan Mikita and Bobby Hull, who that season would help the Black Hawks to the Stanley Cup, star alongside numerous All-Time Greats in Topps’ 1960-61 offering. The desirable Mikita rookie card is a well-centered, crease-free EX example in our eyes, with a top-to-bottom printing line (a quarter-inch from the right edge), to be aware of, while corner/edge wear and a few subtle light surface scratches send the Hull to VG-EX. Condition leaders are a dozen EX-MT cards, led by 2-Moran ATG, 11-Bucyk, 20-Shore ATG, 49-Howell and 65-Pilote, with 24-Burns making it to NM. Most plentiful are pleasing cards in the EX to EX+ range (28), with Clancy, Taylor, Boucher, Ross, Clapper, Vezina, Cook and Malone among 16 ATGs and joined by 39-McCartan RC. The rest include 11 VG-EXs (Morenz ATG, Worsley, Shack), seven at VG+ and six lesser lights, including 1-Patrick ATG (G). A Topps album is G-VG with writing on the inside back cover checklist.
