Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
This hoard of ticket stubs was saved by Ken Morrow from the paramount games of the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. Best are the two large stubs from the Miracle on Ice games against the Russians held on the 22nd and the Finns on the 24th, with notes on the back of the Russian example reading "USA vs. Russia W 4-3", while similar ballpoint markings on the back of the ticket for the final game against Finland proclaim "USA vs. Finland W 4-2". An additional four stubs are here with scores marked on the back from matches against West Germany, Romania, the Czechs and Sweden. Another stub is from the ice hockey match held on Feb. 18 at 8:30 p.m. Also included, we have a closing ceremony full ticket with tape at the top and bottom, along with a stub from the official opening ceremonies. From the personal collection of Ken Morrow, his signed LOA will accompany.
The majority of the stubs exhibit just expected handling wear, with a crease along the base along with a few surface wrinkles to the Russian game ticket stub, while the “Opening Ceremony” ticket has numerous creases.
