Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
A wonderful trio of hockey items rarely found together, we have a framed lithograph signed by three HOFers, a pair of antique skates and a Hockey Hall of Fame honoured member’s blazer. The lithograph is entitled “Saturday Night Hero” and is approx. 18” x 21” (exposed), with a charming pond scene of boys playing hockey. Maurice Richard, Frank Mahovlich and Johnny Bower have all signed near a child’s image, with the litho matted and framed to full dimensions of roughly 26 ½” x 29 ½”. The signatures display well despite moderate fading. The navy HOF blazer is unattributed, with the embroidered “Honoured Member” crest sewn on the left breast, along with the HOF logo on the face of each of the blazer’s eight gold-colored buttons. Produced by Tip Top Tailors with their label over the inner pocket, a price tag remains within said pocket, with a $180.00 price along with a size listed of “42T”. Lastly, the antique skates were produced by noted maker Winslow’s and hail from approx. the 1890s, with the leather ankle supports and hardware still intact. Size “8 1/2” with the model “National Club” listed, the skates display especially well for their age, with just some rusting in spots to mention.
