This spectacular Sher-wood PMP 7000 comes from Brett's rookie campaign and is factory date stamped "4 Dec. 1987" on the back of the shaft. The handle is shaved and wrapped in creamy cloth tape at the knob just above the "Hull B. 16" name stamp. Black cloth tape covers the length of the blade with a squared-off tip. Brett has added a special "'87 Rookie Season" notation to his blue marker signature down by the blade. Comes with a Double Deke Hockey Registered Hologram. Game use on this one is easy to spot with a good number of stick slashes along the shaft, one causing the slightest of splinters. The blade tape job displays additional contact marks and wear along the bottom edge.
The Calgary Flames gave a young Brett Hull a peek during the 1985-86 post-season calling him up for a pair of games. He saw action in five regular seasons games and four playoff tilts the following year but his official National Hockey League rookie season did not occur until he was a regular with the team in 1987-88, playing in 52 games with Calgary before moving on to St. Louis where saw action in an additional 23 regular-seasons and playoff matches.
