Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Especially rare and highly desirable to those with a penchant for international play, we have a collection of four red mesh Tackla uniforms worn by members of the Russian National Hockey Team circa 1991-92. Referred to as "cupolas", this style of jersey was used in 1992 at the Izvestia Cup with no nameplates affixed, with the Russians winning gold. Featuring fully-sublimated identifiers and sponsorship logos – including from Apollo and NMT-GSM – Smirnoff crests have been added over the left breast on a pair of the jerseys. It should also be noted that some examples from this set had nameplates added later for subsequent tournaments and games, with two of the four in this collection outfitted as such.
Included are the numbers 2 (size 52 – no nameplate with Smirnoff patch and heavy wear with a large slit and holes present), 3 (size 56 – no nameplate, wear over the lower front), 15 (size 54 – nameplate present, with heavy wear and holes over the front and reverse) and 22 (size 54 – nameplate and Smirnoff patch present, with dark marks over the front).
