Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

The first goaltender in history to win the Ted Lindsay, Jennings, Vezina and Hart trophies all in the same season, Carey Price has also appeared in six NHL All-Star Games thus far in his career, with the first in 2009. Hailing from the superstar’s rookie season, we have a stick used by Price during the 2007-08 NHL campaign. A Reebok Premier Series II model in Habs colours, “C. Price” has been stamped to the upper shaft, with the original cloth tape over the handle and knob intact. The blade was retaped at some point, and not in the style/pattern usually seen on Price’s sticks. Widely considered the world’s best between the pipes, this rookie season Price stick can only appreciate in desirability as time advances.
Thorough use is evident, with wear to the blade especially along the heel section, with marks and paint transfer to the paddle. There are also a few chunks out of the shaft, with some minor separation to the fiberglass. Despite these flaws, the stick remains solid and is a wonderful example.
