Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

Three legends appear on O-Pee-Chee rookie cards here, with Wayne Gretzky's famous and coveted RC leading the way, with card #18 from 1979-80 housed in an early KSA holder that is labeled "7.5-NMM". Less-than-perfect centering is observed, with smooth edges among its attributes. Two important rookie cards from the 1980s are accompanied by their respective set and near-set, with that of Mario Lemieux receiving a mark of "8.5 MINT", the same as a Patrick Roy RC. Two touched corners (upper left, lower right) are spotted on the Lemieux, with both in similar KSA holders as the Gretzky. The rest of the '85-86 set looks sharp in nine-pocket pages, with random pulls confirming that NM-MT cards dominate. The Al MacInnis RC is NM-MT, with second-year cards of Yzerman (NM-MT (OC)), Neely, Gilmour and Chelios also notable. More pack-fresh-looking cards comprise the '86-87 assembly with the rookie cards of Vanbiesbrouck and Wendel Clark notable. Needing to complete the set is the second-year Lemieux example. Complementing the '85-86 ensemble are (33) sticker inserts, including 12 All-Stars. All-in-all, a nice batch of '80s material.
