Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2006-07 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead.
A beautiful matching-season pair, we have Ryan Russell’s 2009-10 Montreal Canadiens game-issued home and away jerseys. Each jersey features size “54” tagging along the collar with handwritten “1” (home), with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the most famous and recognizable team crest in hockey, both V-neck sweaters have been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Russell” across the nameplate of each in single twill. The Canadiens’ centennial patch is also present, situated over each right shoulder. Issued but never worn, we should note that a few marks are present on the home jersey, denoting possible use. Team patches sit over the inside hems (A01672 Home – A01770 Away), while holograms affixed to the reverse numbers of each (GU11473 Home – GU11491 Away) match the accompanying LOAs from the Canadiens.
