Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Born in Glasgow Scotland and raised in London Ontario, Steve Smith spent parts of 15 seasons in the world’s greatest hockey league, winning three Stanley Cups as a member of the Edmonton Oilers. We have a Calgary Flames jersey that was worn by the 1981 draft pick in 1998-99, his first of three seasons spent in Cowtown. Currently void of any collar labeling but measuring-out to roughly a size 60 and possibly a goalie-cut, embroidered NHL and CCM crests sit over the back bottom hem. Fashioned with an attractive tri-colour Flames team crest completely administered in tackle twill, the V-neck sweater has been embellished with slanted red tackle twill sleeve numbers with black trim, with “Smith” across the nameplate in matching material. Game-wear includes a few stick marks over the lower front, with additional dark marks over each sleeve. There are also board burns over each elbow section, with a small hole/slit over the left sleeve’s number. The team patch sits on the inside hem, and it denotes the garment as a “#2 of 2” example. An LOA from the Flames will accompany.
