Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
The 3rd overall selection at the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, Gary Nylund was known for laying devastating hits, with his large 6’4 frame often finding its way to the penalty box. We have a New York Islanders jersey that was worn by the Surrey native during his first season on Long Island, where he appeared in 46 games. Measuring-out to a size “54” and with Maska Air-Knit tagging affixed to the collar, embroidered CCM and Syosset crests grace the back bottom hem. Styled with the iconic Long Island team crest in tri-colour tackle twill, the white mesh V-neck has been accented with dual-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with “Nylund” across the nameplate in single blue twill. Absolutely hammered with marks, burns and pilling, a number of slits/holes are visible - primarily over the lower front – with additional wear and light fraying to the team crest. An LOA will accompany.
