Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Awesome Penguins black heavy mesh gamer was worn during the 1986-87 season by forward Kevin LaVallee. This 1985-86 jersey with evidence of a former nameplate was likely previously worn by Jim McGeough, and then recycled the following season for LaVallee, who had 28 points (eight goals, 20 assists) in 33 games in his only season in the Pittsburgh, the last of his seven-year NHL career. Century Sports and Cooper logos are embroidered on the rear hem, and Cooper, size Medium, and CAHA Approved flag tags sit in the back of the collar, which is vented open at the front seam. Jersy measures out to size 46 and game wear features black marks high on the right sleeve. Comes with an LOA.
The rubberized Penguins crest heat-screened on the front and the heat-pressed yellow-on-white double vinyl numbers on the back and both shoulders are wonderfully preserved.
More game wear shows in blue paint transfer on the bottom left of the “6” on the left shoulder, black marks on the yellow mesh high on the left sleeve, and board burns with an unrepaired burn hole with black marks on the right sleeve.
