Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
The late Lorne “Gump” Worsley starred for the Minnesota North Stars at the end of his Hall of Fame career, which began with him winning the Calder Trophy as the NHL’s rookie-of-the-year with the New York Rangers in 1952-53. Worsley, who died in 2007 at the age of 77, won the Stanley Cup four times, and shared the Vezina Trophy twice, with the Montreal Canadiens before closing out his career with the North Stars. Gump signed in bold black marker on the paddle of his early-1970s North Stars Sher-Wood game-used stick, which retains his original tape jobs on the knob and blade. “1 Worsley L” is factory-stamped on the shaft, which displays red goalpost paint transfer.
There is a chip on the front top edge of the shaft above the handle and the top edge of the toe of the blade is missing a chipped portion.
