Arguably the most exciting defenceman to watch in the NHL, Erik Karlsson has lead the Ottawa Senators as captain since 2014, with James Norris Trophies won as the league’s premiere blueliner in both 2012 and 2015. We have a stick used by the superstar and first-round draft choice in game #18 of his Norris-winning 2014-15 season. A Warrior Dynasty model, “Karlsson” factory graphics are present on the composite, along with a bar code and serial number over the underside. Retaining the black tape over the blade and red gauze-style over the handle/knob with handwritten “18”, the stick exhibits nice use, with wear to the taped section of blade along with a few marks and abrasions to the lower shaft. As mentioned, the “18” over the handle represents the 18th game of the season that occurred against the Nashville Predators on Nov. 20th 2014. Ottawa handed the Preds a 3-2 loss, with Karlsson contributing an assist. It should also be noted that the Swede was selected to the NHL First All-Star Team in 2015 – the first of three consecutive seasons thus honoured.
