Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Three prominent HOFers all important to the city of Toronto and it’s sporting history, Dick Irvin along with Conacher brothers Lionel and Charlie all fashioned important hockey careers, with signatures of each highly desirable and seldom seen. We have 2 different cuts offered, with one example signed by Charlie, the other signed by both Lionel and Irvin. The Charlie Conacher appears on a 3 ¼” x 4 ½” segment of an autograph album page, with the signature executed in pencil, with clear tape and additional pencil notations on the reverse. The dual-signed cut is also on an autograph album page segment at 4 ¾” square, with both signatures administered in pencil, with clear tape added along an edge.
Each signature displays fairly well despite not being overly bold, with heavier wear to the paper itself, including toning, fold lines and heavy creasing. Irvin passed in 1957, while Charlie left us in 1967 and his brother Lionel in 1954.
