Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Existing for just over a decade in the IHL, the Saginaw Gears successfully advanced to the playoffs for 9 consecutive seasons, winning the league’s championship Turner Cup in both 1977 and 1981. We have a Gears jersey that was worn by netminder Ted Tucker during the club’s second Turner Cup-winning season in 1980-81. Originating from the Vezina family that were part owners of the team, the mesh/knit V-neck is void of any collar labeling, with the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 50. Styled with a multi-coloured tackle twill team crest, “30” in individual orange twill numbers grace both the sleeves and verso. Game-wear includes just a few marks over the front and sleeves, with some minor staining over each elbow section. The “0” of “30” over both the right sleeve and reverse also sport small tears. An LOA will accompany.
