Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018

MVP at the 1984 Canada Cup tournament – no small task considering the immense talent at the event - John Tonelli was a four-time Stanley Cup champion with the New York Islanders, the Hamilton native also appeared in both the 1982 and 1985 NHL All-Star games. We have a signed Los Angeles Kings jersey that was worn by Tonelli in 1990-91. Maska Airknit labeling with faint handwritten “54” sits affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the back bottom hem. Styled with an attractive and textured Kings team crest that’s been partially embroidered, the solid white V-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Tonelli” across the nameplate in matching material.
Tonelli has signed within the reverse “7” in blue marker, and the signature displays well. A few small holes are present over each sleeve resulting from board burns, with a bit of blue paint transfer over the reverse bottom hem. There are also a few small stains over the team crest, possibly blood.
