Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Originating from the collection of longtime CHL and WHL president Ed Chynoweth and consigned by his direct family, we have a trio of signed CHL All-Star Game jerseys, with examples worn by Rob Niedermayer in 1993 and Ryan Smyth in 1994, along with a multi-signed example that was made for the WHL championship trophy namesake. The Niedermayer (size 54) feature’s rubberized identifiers with name screened-onto nameplate, with the 1993 Memorial Cup crest over the right breast, while the Smyth jersey has “XXL” Pro Wear tagging (size 52) with rubberized identifiers and name screened-onto nameplate, with an embroidered Bauer crest beneath the left shoulder. The final jersey has been crested for Chynoweth (size 54), with tackle twill team crest and identifiers, with 21 black marker signatures encompassing the team crest. An LOA from the Chynoweth family will accompany.
The Neidermayer exhibits light wear with a few marks over the left sleeve, with Rob signing just above the team crest in black marker, and the signature is flawless. The Smyth jersey has a few marks over each sleeve, with Ryan adding a somewhat light black marker signature over the left breast. Lastly, the multi-signed example remains in gorgeous condition, with 21 signatures from players who participated in the 1995 CHL All-Star Game, with no issues for the signatures.
